Well, here we go... my first blog entry evaaaaa. I dont know what to say.. i didn't think this day would ever come. Im also not sure if i will ever post again. It depends on how this goes. Just for the record, blog is a weird/cool word. well, here goes...

The story begins on a cold winter day in Value Village. I made a "find". I love it when you make a find. well in this instance my "find" was a stupendously beautiful old-school dresser made of solid walnuts. It was 25 canadian dollars. So, i bought it. :) ... i just used an emoticon. im sorry.
Later on that week, me and my roomates were removing the dresser from my truck, and a light blue shiny object caught my eye.. It was a gorgeous, light blue, 70's vintage dress shirt in its original packaging! another "find". At this point, I was more than impressed with this dresser, and the extra treasure i found inside... but im just getting started...
Soon after unloading the dresser, I exclaimed "I've got dibs on all, and any other treasures we find in this dresser." Well, its a good thing i did, because after removing some of the lower drawers, i saw some coins. Upon further inspection, these werent just any coins.. these were old coins.. like really old, rare, cool coins.
This collection consists of coins such as... an american nickel from 1905, Canadian pennies from 1915, 1916, and 1917. Also, a coin that was worth a whole 5 belgian francs, 75 years ago! My prized possession, the crowning-glory of my collection, is my English penny that was minted in the year 1862. Don't act like you're not impressed.
Lil' Matty was quick on the draw, and he appraised each and every coin online. After a few minutes I realizied that I was the proud new parent/owner of a coin collection worth over 60 dollars. And that children, is the story of the dresser, that paid for itself.

ps. the pictured coins are not mine.
ppss. my coins are not for sale... well, maybe. we'll start the bidding at 65 dollars.

I will pay you 30 tuna sandwiches ( with extra pickles and hot sauce)

I really like that story. I hope you post again Bri!!! :)

i AM impressed! thoroughly. i still need to see the coin collection in real life, though.

i'm also really glad i was there the day this dresser was found!

AND, i will be a witness to tell the masses that the dresser drawers were never opened prior to the purchase, thereby ensuring that this dresser was bought for completely unselfish reasons.

AND, although the dresser itself is pretty incredible, and the coin collection you're so proud of would pay for the dresser more than twice over, i still think i love the vintage shirt more than both of those other things. truly.

also...i will mock you mercilessly for that use of the smiley face emoticon.
....disgusting. ha ha!

laur-n. you havent seen the coins in person yet? they will blow you away!
